The legacy of the Brothers’ McMurray Family Charity is anchored in the heart of Peoria, Illinois, where Ed and Betty McMurray raised their twelve children—eight boys and four girls—instilling in them a steadfast commitment to family, service, and the pursuit of joy.
While the family has since grown to include twenty-five grandchildren and a new generation of great-grandchildren, spreading from the neighborhood streets of Peoria to greater Chicagoland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and beyond, their geographic distance has only strengthened their shared purpose.
Today, the charity serves as a living tribute to the values Ed and Betty instilled, ensuring that no matter how far the family branches reach, their collective dedication to giving back remains unshakable.

This dedication is fueled by a journey marked by both challenge and resilience. Cancer has left an indelible mark on the McMurray family; with four of the twelve siblings standing as proud cancer survivors and their father, Ed McMurray, having fought the disease with immense courage, the fight is more than a cause—it is a deeply personal calling.
These shared experiences have forged a powerful resolve to advance medical research and expand access to life-saving care, ensuring other families have the resources and hope they need.

The story of The Brothers McMurray Family Charity LTD. began in 1999 with a simple yet powerful vision.
While living as roommates in Chicago, brothers Dave, Greg, and Pete were searching for a way to bring family and friends together during the holiday season. It was their brother, Ed, who captured the perfect sentiment: "Let’s raise money and celebrate!"
What started as a heartfelt suggestion has blossomed into a twenty-five-year tradition of transforming joyful community gatherings into life-changing impact. For over two decades, the Charity has united a growing network of supporters to raise both spirits and vital funds for premier organizations, including:
Our mission to support these essential programs and the families they serve—many of whom face challenges mirroring our own family’s journey—is made possible only through the enduring generosity of local businesses and compassionate individuals.
Together, we are turning celebration into a legacy of hope and profound difference.
